Immunology Summit-2015

Session:  Cancer immunology

Cancer immunology Session, host presentations and research areas that deals with interactions of the immune system and cancer cells (also called tumors or malignancies). Cancer Immunology aims to discover innovative cancer immunotherapies to treat and retard progression of the disease. The immune response, including the recognition of cancer-specific antigens, is of particular interest in the field as knowledge gained drives the development of targeted therapy (such as new vaccines and antibody therapies) and tumor marker-based diagnostic tests. The host was given a better chance at survival if the cancer tissue showed infiltration of inflammatory cells, in particular those prompting lymphocytic reactions. The results yielded suggest some extent of anti-tumour immunity is present in colorectal cancers in humans.

Session: Immune Regulation Immune Receptor and Signaling

This exclusive session, deals with the presentations of research areas in the areas like Regulation of T-cell activation during immune responses to autoantigens in diabetes in other autoimmune diseases. Modulation of T cell activation have centered on understanding and altering the positive signals delivered by the antigen-specific T cell receptor and secondary, so-called co-stimulatory signals, or engaging the negative regulatory events includes CTLA-4, PD-1 and Notch that control T cell signal transduction. These studies deals with the yin/yang of the CD28/CTLA-4 pathways which are essential for a homeostatic T cell response.

Session: Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy

Recent studies have implicated NK cells and T cells expressing “NK receptors” as either protective or pathogenic in several autoimmune diseases. Mice lacking the DAP12 adapter protein, which provides signaling for several myeloid and NK cell receptors, are more resistant to experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, This disease similar to multiple sclerosis. Another NK receptor, NKG2D, which is expressed on NK cells and CD8+ T cells, is involved in the destruction of the pancreas in the NOD mice, a strain of mice that spontaneously develops type I diabetes. Blocking NKG2D with a neutralizing monoclonal antibody prevents autoimmune diabetes in these animals. Studies of the signaling and function of these NK receptors may provide new insights into autoimmunity and provide new targets for therapy.

Session: Diabetes Immunology

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks insulin-producing islet cells in the pancreas. This attack begins years before type 1 diabetes becomes evident, so by the time someone is diagnosed, extensive damage has already been done and the ability to produce insulin is lost.

"Immunology Summit-2012 Proceedings"

A huge success has been achieved by OMICS Publishing Group in hosting Immunology -2012 conference. The annual conference brought together many eminent scientists from across 20 countries in which many critical issues were discussed in depth to provide up-to-date information to the world. On the other hand, the meeting provided a brilliant information platform for domestic researchers to communicate with International experts which resulted in great exchange of knowledge.

According to the feedback from the conference, most of our international participants expressed that they would like to attend the upcoming conferences organized by OMICS Group. Depending on the warmly support and suggestions from all the participants and as per the suggestions of our Editorial Board Members, we are planning to organize the Immunologysummit -2013 in October.

We are also thankful to all the members of associated. Journal of Clinical & Cellular Immunology, Journal of Clinical Case Reports and Journal of Cytology & Histology for their generous support.

I have the honor of being “Scientific Committee Chief” for Immunology Summit-2015. In that capacity and on behalf of Yongqun “Oliver” He, President of Immunology Summit - 2015, and in my role as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical and Cellular Immunology, it is my distinct privilege to welcome all of the participants to Immunology Summit -2015. Professor "He" has worked closely with the committee to bring together researchers from the USA, UK and countries world-wide to discuss in open forum such diverse topics in immunology as T cell and B cell biology, innate immunity, allergy and asthma, neuroimmunology, reproductive immunology, clinical and cellular immunology, infectious diseases, immunology of diabetes, cytokines, as well as immunotherapy and vaccines which are among the highlighted topics at this year’s meeting. These topics cover the gamut of areas of current research that are representative of a comprehensive conference. An international symposium organized by Professor Yong Li on the topic of “stem cells in immunology” as well as a symposium organized by Ahmad G Hegazi entitled, “apitherapy and immune system” are projected to be highlights of Immunology Summit-2015. The Journal of Clinical and Cellular Immunology is also pleased to partner with the Immunome Research Journal, the latter providing the publication venue for the conference abstracts. Immunology Summit-2015 is designed to provide researchers with an opportunity to share between them advancements in currently employed technologies and the application of recent progress in immunology to patient care. We are also particularly pleased to once again offer the “Young Research Forum” which provides an opportunity for our younger scientists to present their research findings to a large and diversified audience. Immunology Summit-2015 will also continue its tradition of sponsoring a “poster competition” with an awards ceremony for recipients of the best posters in the competition. An E-poster and video presentations section will also be included in this year’s meeting. Finally, the Organizing Committee members, Professors Petrovsky, Barker and He also solicit your feedback to ensure that Immunology Summit - 2015 is as successful as Immunology Summit – 2014.
